Ray LaMontagne - I've been into him for awhile, but he recently released a new album "Gossip in the Grain" in October. Give a listen at NPR World Cafe. Almosts got a chance to see him, but missed him. My favs off the album: Let it Be Me, You are the Best Thing, Roses and Cigarettes, and "A Falling Through" - my favorite.
Kelleigh McKinzie - She's different then i normally listen to. Like "Call it a Day". Spoke to me.
Jacob and Lily - Another Mountainstage New Song Festival pic. "Dangerous Thing" has the most impact tonight.
Listening to Jacob and Lily, reflecting on this past year:
- A long one
- A painful one
- A new one
- A great election
- Discovering new things
- Letting go
- New Beginnings
- Sifting though the broken pieces
- Picking up the pieces
- Moving on
- Trying to love again...
"giving away too many keys to the rooms inside..." (Dangerous Thing) -- great line. It's raining/sleeting, I'm at the kitchen table, but no coffee is on. Here's to words. Too many left unspoken.
The Be Good Tanyas (Hello Love) - a gentle close to the evening's thoughts.
